Issuance and Dispensation of Electronic Prescriptions
The Electronic Prescription service enables Healthcare Professionals in Cyprus to register prescriptions for patients traveling to another EU member state. At the same time, the Cross-Border eDispensation service provides contracted pharmacies in Cyprus with the necessary access and support for the safe dispensation of medications to European citizens.
1.Issuance of Electronic Prescription (ePrescription) for Cypriot Citizens Traveling to the EU
(Applies to permanent residents of Cyprus or EU citizens/ARC holders residing in Cyprus)
This service is intended for Healthcare Professionals in Cyprus whose patients are planning to travel or temporarily stay in another EU Member State.
It allows the doctor to register the prescription electronically in the portal of the National Contact Point for eHealth (NCPeH), so that the patient can subsequently collect their medication by dispensing the prescription at a participating pharmacy in the host country.
Requirements for the Healthcare Professional:

Explicit consent from the patient.

A valid security certificate installed in their web browser.

An identified and verified account on the Government Portal (Gov.cy).
2. Dispensation of Electronic Prescription (eDispensation) for Citizens Visiting Cyprus from Other EU Member States
(Applies to European citizens traveling or temporarily residing in Cyprus)
This service is intended for Pharmacists and Participating Pharmacies in Cyprus serving citizens or visitors from other EU Member States.
It offers immediate and secure access to the electronic prescription issued abroad, enabling its safe execution and the dispensation of medications to the patient in Cyprus in compliance with European standards.
Requirements for the Pharmacist:

Patient Identification: Official identification documents as specified by the patient's country of origin (e.g., Passport, National ID card).
